Fill in hostname, passwords, maxPlayers, BattlEye, verifySignatures, forceSameBuild, VoN, third person view, day/night time acceleration, login queue, persistence and mission (Chernarus, Livonia…), then copy or download the file. Open the tool

serverDZ.cfg is the main configuration file of a DayZ Standalone dedicated server, located in the server root and loaded with -config=serverDZ.cfg. Every line ends with a semicolon; strings are in double quotes.

How to use the tool

  1. Fill in the name, the passwords (replace ChangeMe!) and the slot count.

  2. Choose the mission (template): dayzOffline.chernarusplus or dayzOffline.enoch (Livonia), matching the folders in mpmissions/.

  3. Set the time (serverTimeAcceleration, serverNightTimeAcceleration) and the login queue.

  4. Copy or download serverDZ.cfg and put it in the server root (import an existing one to edit it).

  5. Start the server with -config=serverDZ.cfg (see the Launch parameters tool).

Things to know

  • verifySignatures: only value 2 is offered; keep it with forceSameBuild = 1 to keep out modified clients.
  • steamQueryPort: Steam query UDP port; 27016 is the example value in many guides and 2305 also appears — open the one you choose and keep it distinct from the server's other ports.
  • Mods are not declared here but with -mod= and -serverMod= at launch.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I put the file?
In the server root (next to DayZServer_x64.exe), then start with -config=serverDZ.cfg.
Are my passwords sent anywhere?
No: everything is generated in your browser and saved only in your localStorage. Still, use unique passwords.
