Oxide/uMod plugins store their configuration as JSON in oxide/config/ (Carbon: carbon/configs/). A single missing comma is enough to stop a plugin loading; this editor validates the file before you put it back on the server.
How to use the tool
Import the plugin's config file or paste its content into the raw JSON.
Check the “Valid JSON” indicator; on error, the message gives the position.
Edit values field by field (text, number, boolean) or add keys and list items.
Download the file, replace it on the server then reload the plugin (oxide.reload <plugin>).
Common JSON mistakes
- Trailing comma after the last item of an object or list.
- Single quotes or unquoted keys: JSON requires double quotes.
- Comments (// or /* */): not allowed in standard JSON.
Frequently asked questions
- Does formatting change plugin behaviour?
- No: only whitespace and line breaks change. Key order and values are preserved.
- My file has very large numbers: are they altered?
- Numbers above 2^53 (e.g. some unquoted SteamID64) lose precision in a browser: keep them quoted as strings or avoid reformatting such files.
