The Empyrion dedicated server reads dedicated.yaml in the server root: a ServerConfig block (network, access, telnet, EAC) and a GameConfig block (game name, mode, seed). Indent with spaces, never tabs.
How to use the tool
Fill in the name, description, password and player count.
Check the game port (30000/UDP by default) and protect telnet with a password.
Pick the game name, mode (Survival/Creative) and seed.
Download dedicated.yaml, place it in the root of the stopped server and restart.
Keys covered and limits
The keys come from third-party guides (no complete official documentation was found); other keys may exist in your build, and the telnet key name varies between guides: compare with the dedicated.yaml your server generates. PvP/PvE is set per playfield in the scenario, not here.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is my YAML rejected?
- Most often because of tabs or wrong indentation: use spaces only, as in the generated file.
- Should telnet be exposed?
- No: keep the telnet port (30004/TCP per guides) closed in the firewall and reachable only locally, with a password.
