On a Bedrock server, allow-list=true restricts access to the players listed in allowlist.json. Each entry is an object with name (gamertag), xuid (optional: according to third-party guides it is filled in on the first connection) and ignoresPlayerLimit. This tool writes the file without JSON syntax errors.
How to use the tool
Enter one player per line: “Gamertag” or “Gamertag, XUID”.
Enable ignoresPlayerLimit only for players who must join even when the server is full.
Download allowlist.json and put it next to bedrock_server (server stopped, or use the allowlist reload command).
Check that allow-list=true in server.properties, then test the connection with a listed account.
In-game commands and XUID
You can also manage the list from the server console with the allowlist add/remove/list/reload commands (confirm with “help” on your version). The XUID is the player's Xbox identifier; you don't need to know it to start, adding by gamertag is enough according to third-party guides (not documented on the official page consulted). If in doubt, add the player with the command and re-read the file the server generated.

]Frequently asked questions
- Is the XUID required?
- No, according to third-party guides: an empty XUID is filled in on the player's first connection. If you know it, enter it for more reliable identification.
- Why is my file ignored?
- Common causes: invalid JSON (typo), wrong folder (the file must sit next to bedrock_server), or allow-list=false in server.properties. This generator removes the first case.
