Documentation: BattleBit community server checklist

Interactive checklist to set up a BattleBit Remastered community server. No SteamCMD app or official self-hosting procedure could be verified: the tool covers choosing the route (host or the studio's community program), server settings, the optional community API (BattleBit API Runner), passwords, testing and update tracking. Progress is saved locally.

Open the tool

To our knowledge (2023 community, unofficial sources), BattleBit community servers were made possible with the developers' help and hosts rent them out; we could not verify a SteamCMD app or a current official procedure. This checklist helps you not miss a step.

How to use the tool

  1. Find out the current procedure from official channels (Steam discussions, the game's Discord).

  2. Choose the route: rent from a host or self-host if the studio allows it.

  3. Tick the steps: settings, optional community API, passwords, testing, updates.

  4. Copy the checklist (Copy button) to share it with your team.

BattleBit API Runner (community)

BattleBit API Runner is an unofficial community project (GitHub repository RainOrigami/BattleBitAPIRunner) that implements the community server API and loads C# modules: run it with “dotnet BattleBitAPIRunner.dll” (Linux) or BattleBitAPIRunner.exe (Windows), then the game server connects to it. It is neither developed nor supported by the studio; see its wiki (Hosting Guide).

Frequently asked questions

Is there a BattleBit dedicated server on SteamCMD?
We could not verify one; a 2023 Steam thread mentions community servers granted with the developers' help, for larger communities. Ask through official channels.
Is the API Runner required?
No: it is an optional community tool for customizing the server with modules.
