Two mechanisms distribute Workshop addons: +host_workshop_collection mounts a collection on the server, and resource.AddWorkshop (in lua/autorun/server/workshop.lua) makes clients download them. This tool prepares both.
How to use the tool
Paste your collection URL or ID (it must be public or unlisted).
Paste the addon list (one URL or ID per line): duplicates and invalid lines are flagged.
Add the +host_workshop_collection parameter to your launch command.
Download workshop.lua, put it in garrysmod/lua/autorun/server/ and restart.
Collection or ID list?
The collection is the official method documented by Facepunch: the server downloads it at startup, sub-collections included. workshop.lua is the classic way for players to receive the addons; each ID must match an addon actually mounted on the server.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are my addons not downloading?
- Check that the collection is public or unlisted, that +host_workshop_collection is on the launch line and that the server has Internet access. Read the console output at startup.
- Are my lists sent to a server?
- No. The tool does not contact Steam: it parses the text in your browser and does not check that addons exist.
