GLua is Garry's Mod's Lua, with syntax extensions (//, /* */, !=, &&, ||, continue). This tool locally checks that blocks, brackets and strings are balanced, to catch a mistake before it floods the server console.
How to use the tool
Paste your script into the text area (it stays in your browser).
Read the list of errors and warnings with their line number.
Fix them, then recheck until it reports no issue.
Then test on a development server: only the server truly validates the logic.
Limits of the check
The analysis is heuristic: it knows neither variables, nor the Garry's Mod API functions, nor runtime errors. Warnings about RunString, CompileString and http.Fetch invite you to review the code, not to reject it.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the linter accept GLua syntax (!=, &&, //)?
- Yes for // and /* */ comments; operators are not parsed, so they raise no error. Only block structure is checked.
- Is my code sent anywhere?
- No, the analysis runs in your browser and the text is only kept in your local storage.
