Documentation: liblist.gam editor

Editor for cstrike/liblist.gam (game, url_info, url_dl, version, size, secure, gamedll, gamedll_linux…). Import your existing file, edit gamedll / gamedll_linux to load Metamod, then download the new version. Defaults are indicative: the import is the reference.

Open the tool

liblist.gam, in cstrike/, describes the mod to the GoldSrc engine, notably the game library to load (gamedll on Windows, gamedll_linux on Linux). Installing Metamod means pointing that line at its library. This tool imports your file and regenerates it.

How to use the tool

  1. Back up your current liblist.gam, then click Import to load it.

  2. For Metamod, enter its library path in gamedll_linux (Linux) or gamedll (Windows), depending on the installed version.

  3. Download liblist.gam and replace the file in cstrike/ (server stopped).

  4. Start the server and check the console shows the library loading without error (meta list command for Metamod).

Warning

The tool's defaults are those of a common liblist.gam but Valve has changed this file across HLDS updates: always start from your imported file. Metamod paths depend on the distribution used (follow its documentation). Never update HLDS without backing this file up again, because the update may overwrite it.
