Documentation: ServerHostSettings.json generator

ServerHostSettings.json generator for a V Rising dedicated server: Name, Port, QueryPort, MaxConnectedUsers, ServerFps, SaveName, AutoSave*, Rcon. The file is generated locally in your browser: no data is sent to a server and your settings stay in your browser's local storage.

Open the tool

ServerHostSettings.json configures your V Rising server. This tool builds a valid file from a form, with live preview, copy, download and sensible starting values.

How to use the tool

  1. Fill in the form fields (starting values are already sensible).

  2. Check the live preview next to or below the form.

  3. Click Download (or Copy) to get ServerHostSettings.json.

  4. Stop the server, back up the old file, put the new one in <persistentDataPath>/Settings/, then restart.

Good to know

Starting values come from official documentation or cross-checked sources; they may change with any game update. Re-check the generated file after a major update.

Always stop the server before editing its files (some games rewrite them on shutdown) and keep a copy of the old file.

Starting values (ports 9876/9877, 40 players, 20 saves every 120 s) are common settings, not guaranteed defaults: the official documentation uses 27015/27016 as examples and the shipped defaults live in VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings. Only Port must be open if you do not want to be listed.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I put ServerHostSettings.json?
In <persistentDataPath>/Settings/, with the server stopped. Back up the old version before replacing it, then restart the server.
Are my settings sent to a server?
No. Everything is computed in your browser. Your settings are stored only in your browser's local storage and can be erased from the Data page.
