Open the tool

An Arma Reforger dedicated server is configured in a config.json file passed with the -config parameter. This tool outputs valid JSON (keys are case-sensitive) with the default UDP ports 2001 (game), 17777 (A2S) and 19999 (RCON).

How to use the tool

  1. Fill in the network section: bindPort and publicPort (2001 by default); leave publicAddress empty for auto-detection.

  2. Set the name, passwords, scenario (scenarioId) and player count; list available scenarios with -listScenarios.

  3. Add your Workshop mods (one per line: GUID | name | version); only 16-character hexadecimal GUIDs are kept.

  4. Enable RCON only if needed, with a long password (no spaces).

  5. Download config.json, put it next to the server and start: ArmaReforgerServer -config ./config.json -maxFPS 60.

Ports to open

  • 2001/UDP — game (bindPort / publicPort)
  • 17777/UDP — A2S queries (Steam browser)
  • 19999/UDP — RCON (only if enabled)

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a scenario's scenarioId?
Start the server with the -listScenarios parameter: it prints the available {GUID}Missions/….conf paths. For a mod's scenario, use the GUID given by the mod.
Why won't my server start after editing?
Keys are case-sensitive (bindPort, not BindPort) and a stray comma breaks the JSON. Generate the file with this tool, then check the logs in the -profile folder.
Are the defaults official?
The ports (2001, 17777, 19999) are listed on the Bohemia Interactive wiki; other values come from cross-checked community references. Verify them on community.bistudio.com after a game update.
