Documentation: Unturned Config.json editor

Config.json editor for an Unturned dedicated server (advanced settings: GSLT token, description, difficulty, loot, zombies…). The tool doesn't know every key: it validates JSON syntax live, lets you edit each field (text, number, boolean, lists, objects), formats and minifies, imports and downloads the file. Nothing is sent to a server.

An Unturned server's advanced settings (GSLT token, description, gameplay) are in the configuration file of the Servers/<name>/ folder. This editor spares you syntax errors: it validates JSON live and lets you adjust each value.

How to use the tool

  1. Start the server once so the configuration file is created, then stop it.

  2. Import that file (Config.json) into the editor or paste its content.

  3. Change values (for example the GSLT token in the Browser section) while keeping the “Valid JSON” indicator.

  4. Download the file, replace it in Servers/<name>/ and restart the server.

File format: check on your version

Sources disagree: the official documentation consulted mentions a Config.txt file and difficulty presets (Easy, Normal, Hard), while recent guides describe a Config.json (keys such as Login_Token for the GSLT token, WorkshopDownloadConfig.json for Workshop mods). This tool therefore imposes no schema: it edits any valid JSON. Check which file your version generates, back it up before editing and don't trust key names your own file doesn't confirm.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GSLT token?
A Steam “Game Server Login Token”, needed for an Internet server to appear in the public list. It is generated with your Steam account and must be kept secret.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No: the file is parsed in your browser and only the draft is stored locally. Still, avoid leaving a GSLT token in a shared browser.
