A Miscreated server is installed with SteamCMD (app 302200) and started with Bin64_dedicated\MiscreatedServer.exe plus arguments. This tool builds a ready-to-use script: update, start and restart after exit.
How to use the tool
Enter the install folder and the SteamCMD path.
Fill in the server name, ports, player count and options.
Copy or download the script, then run it (right-click > Run as administrator on Windows, or chmod +x on Linux).
Open the server ports in the firewall and on your router, then test the connection.
Good to know
SteamCMD app 302200: a forum reports anonymous login may fail (subscription error) and that a Steam account owning the game is then required; fill the “Steam account” field if needed. Since patch 1.18.x, -sv_bind with the external IP is mandatory (except Steam UGC content). Ports 64090-64094 (TCP/UDP) come from a Docker image; the typical launch line comes from a 2018 Steam guide.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I update on every start?
- Recommended: client and server must run the same version, and a SteamCMD update with nothing new is quick. Untick the option to disable it.
- Are my settings sent anywhere?
- No. Everything is generated in your browser and only a local copy (localStorage) remembers your values; you can view and erase it on the Data page.
