Documentation: The Front launch command generator

Windows launch script generator for TheFrontServer.exe: MaxPlayers, QueueThreshold, ServerName, ServerAdminAccounts (Steam64), -OutIPAddress, a block of four consecutive ports (-port, -BeaconPort, -QueryPort, -ShutDownServicePort), -UserDir, frame-rate cap and parallelization options. Open the tool

The Front's dedicated server runs on Windows (TheFrontServer.exe). This tool builds the StartServer.bat file, one argument per line, and computes the block of four ports from the game port. Settings in ServerConfig_.ini override the launch line.

How to use the tool

  1. Enter the path to TheFrontServer.exe, the server name, player count and queue threshold.

  2. Enter the public IP (-OutIPAddress) and the game port; the following ports are computed (+1, +2, +3).

  3. Add the admins' Steam64 IDs, separated by semicolons.

  4. Download StartServer.bat, put it in the server folder, open the four ports and run it.

Port block

  • -port — game port (7900 in one host's example)
  • -BeaconPort = port + 1 — join handshake
  • -QueryPort = port + 2 — Steam server list
  • -ShutDownServicePort = port + 3 — clean shutdown

Frequently asked questions

Are these arguments official?
Not verified against official documentation: they come from consistent hosting guides (xgamingserver, LOW.MS, IONOS). Ports vary between guides; the tool sets a block of four consecutive ports and you choose the base.
How does this differ from ServerConfig_.ini?
The launch line defines the process (ports, IP, performance); ServerConfig_.ini tunes the game (name, passwords, rates) and wins on conflicts. Use the site's other tool for that file.
