Documentation: ServerSettings.ini generator

Last updated: 10/9/2026

Open the tool

The Icarus dedicated server is configured in ServerSettings.ini, created on first start in Icarus\Saved\Config\WindowsServer. This tool writes the file with the keys documented by the developer (section [/Script/Icarus.DedicatedServerSettings]).

How to use the tool

  1. Start the server once to create the folder tree, then stop it.

  2. Fill in the session name, join password and admin password.

  3. Set the player count, automatic shutdowns and resuming the last prospect.

  4. Download the file, replace the server's copy while stopped, then restart.

Keys and limits

Defaults are those of the file template shipped with the game (shutdowns at 300 s, resume enabled, non-admins may launch prospects). LoadProspect and CreateProspect follow the syntax described in RocketWerkz's GitHub wiki: leave them empty if you do not need them.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I put ServerSettings.ini?
In <server folder>\Icarus\Saved\Config\WindowsServer, with the server stopped. The file is created on first start; you can also create it by hand.
Why do my changes disappear?
The server may rewrite the file on shutdown: edit it only while the server is off.
