A Icarus server is installed with SteamCMD (app 2089300) and started with IcarusServer.exe plus arguments. This tool builds a ready-to-use script: update, start and restart after exit.
How to use the tool
Enter the install folder and the SteamCMD path.
Fill in the server name, ports, player count and options.
Copy or download the script, then run it (right-click > Run as administrator on Windows, or chmod +x on Linux).
Open the server ports in the firewall and on your router, then test the connection.
Good to know
The Icarus server is designed for Windows (SteamCMD app 2089300, separate from the game 1149460). On Linux it needs Wine or Docker, with no official support. Default ports: 17777/UDP (game) and 27015/UDP (query).
Frequently asked questions
- Should I update on every start?
- Recommended: client and server must run the same version, and a SteamCMD update with nothing new is quick. Untick the option to disable it.
- Are my settings sent anywhere?
- No. Everything is generated in your browser and only a local copy (localStorage) remembers your values; you can view and erase it on the Data page.
