A Farming Simulator 25 dedicated server relies on two XML files: dedicatedServer.xml (install folder, edited before first launch, including the initial_admin block) and dedicatedServerConfig.xml (Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\dedicated_server folder, updated by the web interface). This tool checks they are well-formed, without inventing rules GIANTS does not document.
How to use the tool
Open the XML file in a text editor (Notepad++ recommended) and copy its whole content.
Paste it in the text area: analysis happens immediately in your browser.
Fix the reported errors ([X]) and read the warnings ([!]) about initial_admin.
Review the list of values, save the corrected file in the editor, then restart dedicatedServer.exe.
What the tool checks (and does not)
The tool checks XML syntax (the browser's DOMParser), the presence of the initial_admin block with non-empty username and passphrase, and shows the path of each value. It does not validate other tag names or value ranges: GIANTS publishes no accessible official reference, and third-party guides disagree. Default ports quoted by guides are 10823 (game), 8080 (web HTTP) and 8443 (web HTTPS).
Frequently asked questions
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. Analysis runs in your browser and the pasted content is neither sent nor stored (closing the tab erases it). Passwords are masked in the list.
- What is the difference between the two files?
- dedicatedServer.xml (install folder) holds the web interface credentials, including initial_admin; dedicatedServerConfig.xml (Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\dedicated_server) stores the game settings and is updated through the web interface. Source: third-party guides (IONOS, RedSwitches); the exact split is not confirmed by GIANTS.
