A ARK: Survival Ascended server is tuned in two files: GameUserSettings.ini (network, passwords, rates and rules) and Game.ini (breeding, XP, tribes). This tool outputs both with the wiki's default values; you only change what you need.
How to use the tool
Enter the session name, passwords and player count.
Adjust the rates (XP, taming, harvest), rules and structure limits.
Copy the “===== GameUserSettings.ini” block into that file and the “===== Game.ini” block into Game.ini (stop the server first).
Restart the server: it rewrites the files on shutdown, so never edit them while it is running.
Where the files go
Both files live in ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer (Windows) or ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer (Linux, ARK: Survival Evolved). Game.ini options have no effect on the command line; class names and engram indexes come from the wiki.
Frequently asked questions
- Why do my settings vanish after a restart?
- You probably edited the files while the server was running: it rewrites them on shutdown. Stop it, paste your settings, then start again.
- Are these the official default values?
- They are the values documented by ark.wiki.gg (“Server configuration” page). The game may change them in an update: check the wiki after a big patch.
