A Valheim server is started with command-line parameters. This tool builds a readable launch script (start_server.sh / start_server.bat), one parameter per line, ready to save.
How to use the tool
Pick your system (Linux or Windows), then enter name, ports and player count.
Replace the example passwords with long, unique ones.
Download start_server.sh / start_server.bat and put it in <server-dir>/.
On Linux make it executable (chmod +x) and run it; on Windows double-click it.
Good to know
Starting values come from official documentation or cross-checked sources; they may change with any game update. Re-check the generated file after a major update.
Always stop the server before editing its files (some games rewrite them on shutdown) and keep a copy of the old file.
The password must be at least 5 characters and must not contain the server name. -port 2456 also uses the following ports: open 2456-2458 UDP. The dedicated server is Steam app 896660; the script sets SteamAppId=892970 like the official script.
