Documentation: Engine.ini generator

Engine.ini generator for a Satisfactory dedicated server: mNumRotatingAutosaves, NetServerMaxTickRate, ConnectionTimeout, PortRangeBegin. The file is generated locally in your browser: no data is sent to a server and your settings stay in your browser's local storage.

Last updated: 10/9/2026

Open the tool

Engine.ini configures your Satisfactory server. This tool builds a valid file from a form, with live preview, copy, download and sensible starting values.

How to use the tool

  1. Fill in the form fields (starting values are already sensible).

  2. Check the live preview next to or below the form.

  3. Click Download (or Copy) to get Engine.ini.

  4. Stop the server, back up the old file, put the new one in FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/, then restart.

Good to know

Starting values come from official documentation or cross-checked sources; they may change with any game update. Re-check the generated file after a major update.

Always stop the server before editing its files (some games rewrite them on shutdown) and keep a copy of the old file.

On Windows: FactoryGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\. The server rewrites its ini files on shutdown: edit them while it is stopped; the file may not exist before a first clean shutdown. The autosave interval (300 s by default) is set with the FG.AutosaveInterval console command in the Server Manager, not in an ini.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I put Engine.ini?
In FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/, with the server stopped. Back up the old version before replacing it, then restart the server.
Are my settings sent to a server?
No. Everything is computed in your browser. Your settings are stored only in your browser's local storage and can be erased from the Data page.
