Open the tool

Palworld is configured through a single file, PalWorldSettings.ini, where every option sits on one OptionSettings=(...) line. This tool builds that line without syntax errors, starting from the default values.

How to use the tool

  1. Start the server once to create the config folders, then stop it.

  2. Import your existing PalWorldSettings.ini (optional) or start from the defaults.

  3. Set the name, passwords (AdminPassword!), rates, death penalty, PvP and bases.

  4. Copy or download the file and place it in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ (or WindowsServer/) while the server is stopped.

  5. Restart the server and check the settings in game.

Where to put the file

The template DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini sits in the PalServer root folder: copy it to the location below, because editing it in place has no effect (official documentation).

  • Linux: Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini
  • Windows: Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldSettings.ini

Frequently asked questions

Are the default values guaranteed?
They follow the 1.0 default file cross-checked against several sources, but Pocketpair sometimes changes them: if in doubt, compare with the DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini shipped with your server. The Difficulty and RESTAPIEnabled defaults are not confirmed by the official documentation.
Why are my settings ignored?
Check that the file is in Pal/Saved/Config/<Linux|Windows>Server/ (not the template folder), that it fits on a single OptionSettings line and that the server was stopped while you edited it.
