Opening the right ports is what separates a local server from a reachable one. This tool is game-independent: you supply the ports from your server's documentation, it writes the commands. It stands in for the lack of documented official ports for Open//77.
How to use the tool
Pick the target: Linux ufw, Linux iptables or Windows netsh.
Enter one port per line with its protocol: 7777/udp, 8000-8010/tcp or 7777/both.
If needed, restrict access to an IP address (for instance for an admin interface).
Run the commands as administrator or with sudo, then test from an outside network.
Line format
Invalid lines are ignored. Also remember your provider's firewall / security group (OVH, Hetzner, Scaleway) and your router's port forwarding: these commands do not cover them. ufw/iptables commands do not replace a security review.
sudo ufw allow 7777/udp
sudo ufw allow 8000:8010/tcpFrequently asked questions
- Which ports does Open//77 use?
- I found no official source stating it; refer to the documentation or Discord of the mod you use, then enter its ports here.
- What is the difference between ufw and iptables?
- ufw is a simple front-end to iptables, common on Ubuntu/Debian, and it persists its rules. Raw iptables rules do not persist without a dedicated package (iptables-persistent).
