Open the tool

The Hytale server is a Java jar (HytaleServer.jar) that requires Java 25 and at least 4 GB of memory; it listens on UDP (QUIC) port 5520 by default. This tool builds the launch command from the known options.

How to use the tool

  1. Pick the memory (-Xms/-Xmx): 4 GB minimum; view distance weighs most on RAM.

  2. Enter the Assets.zip path and the listen address (--bind, 0.0.0.0:5520 by default).

  3. Choose the authentication mode and options (operators, early plugins, Sentry, backups).

  4. Copy the command into a script, start the server, then run /auth login device in the console.

Reliability of the options

Official sources (Hytale support): --assets, --bind, Java 25, UDP 5520, authentication through /auth login device. The other options (--auth-mode, --allow-op, --accept-early-plugins, --disable-sentry, --backup, --backup-dir, --backup-frequency) come from host guides and their defaults disagree: verify with java -jar HytaleServer.jar --help on your version. The game is in early access and changes often.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't players join without authentication?
The server must be authenticated with a Hytale account (/auth login device, code valid 900 s). Set /auth persistence Encrypted to keep the login across restarts.
Which Java version is needed?
Java 25 (x64 or arm64). Check with java -version.
